The Blue Mosque today is a tourist hotspot because of its tradition and importance to the history of the Ottoman Empire and the city of Istanbul. Many people continue to go there not only to embrace its architectural beauty, but also to participate in daily prayer services that still occur in the mosque. The mosque's interior is cooled with inverted stand fans and chilled air is piped through air vents located at the base of the fans. It was an interesting science behind this novelty. The mosque is located in Shah Alam which was the former Malaysian capital and should be visited by any visitor of Malaysia. It is a very beautiful mosques from outside. You can park inside in the yard and enjoy the garden. You can visit the inside of mosque with a guide unless they have service. Women get a cape and a head scarf for inside visit. The inside is more or less same like many others. The guide explains you the history and building details of the mosque and show you the direction to Mecca as well as the different prayer halls for men and women. No entrance fee of course. Lots of information flyers in several languages you get at the entrance for free of charge. Be careful when leaving the mosque yard by car. It is a bit difficult to see for both due to a blind corner before the exit. Tourists are welcome. Robes to cover exposed parts of the body are given for no charge.
When it was opened to the public in 1988 during the reign of its namesake, Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, it comes with superlatives - the largest dome, the tallest minarets, the most modern, the latest, etc. Yes, the mosque is huge and 30 years later not many mosques in Malaysia or even the region can compare to its size.. The ablution pipes came with sensors, a big novelty then when piped water was luxury for some villages not far from the capital city of Selangor. name mosque is Sultan Salahudin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque.
