Thindal Murugan Temple is one of the major worship places in the region. The worship centre is dedicated Lord Muruga, the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. This revered place is positioned on the Thindal village at a hillock that is located at a distance of 6 km from the centre of the town. Spread over an area of 6.25 acres and positioned at an elevation of 50 m, the temple was the chief worship centre of Mysore's Kingdom in yesteryears. The 750 years old temple features Rajagopuram on the peak. Thindal Murugan Temple can be approached from hill steps along the road route.
