At a distance of 48 Kms from Kottayam and 10 Kms from Erattupetta, Ayyampara is famous for rocky formation spread across 20 acres amidst great natural beauty. The rock formed in the shape of a stadium, it is a good trekking destination. Located at an altitude of 2000 feet, Ayyampara derived its name from the Lord Ayyappa temple located here. This place is also famous for spectacular sunsets. The Five Rocks here are said to represent the five Pandava brothers of the Indian epic Mahabharata.
