Marmala Waterfalls lies on the Vagamon – Erattupetta route near Teekoy. It is just 7 km away from Erattupetta town and 16 km away from Vagamon, one of the most popular hill stations in Kerala. Though majority of the tourists are those who come to visit Vagamon, the number of tourists who reach the spot to visit Marmala Waterfalls is never a few. Though not much popular, Marmala Waterfalls offers a really attractive and pleasing view to the beholders, the tourists. It remains a good spot for Trekking as well. However, unlike other spots, trekking remains a necessity for the tourists to reach the site as the road is too hard for the vehicles – no car will go through this way and the jeep would go almost 2 km close to this spot.Tourists who want to visit Marmala Waterfalls may take a taxi either from Erattupetta town or you may take the taxi or auto rickshaw from Teekoy Town. In both the cases, tourists will have to walk at least two kilometers to reach the spot. But surely, that trekking is really worth undergoing for anyone who loves Nature’s non-polluted charm. Vagamon Hills, Vagamon Kurisumala, Thangal Para, Pullikanam, Poonjar Palace, Aruvithura Church, Bharananganam Church, etc. are a few major tourist attractions nearby Marmala Waterfalls. Elaveezhapoonchira, Illickal Rock (Illickal kallu), etc. also famous tourism spots and they too are not very far from this spot..
