Mount Hanuman Tibba or Hanuman Ka Tibba is the highest peak of Dhauladhar Range and is located right in front of McLeod Ganj. The peak has a staggering height of 19000 feet and provides for a breathtaking view of snow capped surroundings- the reason it is called as White Mountain. The peak is named after Hindu Lord Hanuman who according to a famous legend rested at this spot when he was on the way to deliver ‘Sanjeevani Booti’ to help revive Lord Laxman. This place is advisable for hardcore adventure seekers who want to take on the daunting yet adventurous task of uphill trekking. Reaching this place requires a great deal of physical and mental strength. However, in the end, it will all be worth the pain. Sunset from this point is a major attraction as spectators get to witness the rare natural sight of sun changing its colors as it goes behind the mountains. Apart from trekking, activities like mountain climbing and hiking are offered at various spots here. Proper trek gears and trainers are readily available for service. It is to be remembered that this trek is to be taken only by experienced trekkers who are well-versed with the nuances of mountaineering.
