The Klang Valley, which encompasses Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas, experienced rapid urbanization and population growth over the years. Klang Gates Dam (Klang Gates Reservoir): The Klang Gates Dam, also known as Klang Gates Reservoir, is a major dam located in the northern part of Kuala Lumpur. Batu Dam: The Batu Dam is another crucial water reservoir in the Klang Valley. Located in the Gombak district, it serves as a storage reservoir to meet water demands for industrial, commercial, and domestic purposes. Langat Dam: The Langat Dam, located in Hulu Langat district, Selangor, is another significant dam project in the Klang Valley. It plays a vital role in supplying water to the southern areas of the valley. These dams, along with others in the region, have helped in flood control, water storage, and ensuring a stable water supply for the growing population. They also contribute to environmental conservation, providing recreational spaces and preserving natural habitats around the reservoirs.
