ABOUT
Poomala is one of the popular tourist hill stations in India. This place situated in a calm and serene atmosphere and from the top of the hill we can view Thrissur town. There is a dam in Poomala named Poomala dam, for irrigation purpose. This is one of the oldest dams and has a mud and stone construction. people can reach here From Thrissur town by traveling 7 km to Thirur Town and then take right turn at Waylord to Poomala Hills. Poomala dam is situated about 15 km from Thrissur town. To its north lies another dam, Pathazhakundu, which presently is oriented only for irrigation. Other facilities in include boating in the reservoir, horse ride, a walkway of 600 metres; a community hall that can accommodate 300 persons; a cafeteria and latrine facilities.
