Azheekal Beach, Kollam

Azheekal Beach is one of the most unknown and untouched beaches on the coast of Arabian Sea. It is in Kollam Metropolitan Area, Kerala. The beach got this name from the Malayalam word Aazhee, which means confluence of backWaters and the Sea. Azheekal beach is located at the northern end of the land mass of Alappad peninsula in the district of Kollam, Kerala. Azheekal Beach is conveniently located 12 km away from Karunagappally Town. It can be accessed through Panikkar Kadavu Bridge (via Lalaji Jn) or Kallum moottil kadavu Bridge (via Mini Civil Station Jn). Beach is 7 km away from Ochira Parabrahma Temple, can reach the Beach through Ayiramthengu Bridge. Beach is 5 km away from Mata Amritanandamayi Math and 6 km away from Amritapuri Campus. The Beach is famous for its White Sands. The evening views of the Sunset are worth lingering over. One of the main attractions are the small islands near the Beach. Some of the islands are filled with Mangrove forests. A Pulimuttu which is 0.5 km extended into the Sea. The Beach is also a good spot for flying Kites.The presence of Cheenavala adds to the scenic beauty of the Beach.
