Kulamavu Dam is a gravity/masonry dam operating on the River Periyar. It is one of the three dams related with the Idukki hydro electric power project in the Indian state of Kerala. The venture is funded by the Government of Canada and is upheld by the waters of the Cheruthoni and Idukki dams.The construction of these three dams formed a 60 km² artificial lake. In Moolamattom power house for the electricity production used the stored water from the dam.780 MW power generating in the power house per day.The potential head on which the project operates is at a height of around 2,500 ft above sea level.
