Seashore Recreational Park, Kannur
ABOUT
A seashore recreational park developed under Thalassery Heritage Tourism Circuit, Overbury’s Folly is located near Thalassery Municipal Stadium. An ideal place to watch sunset, this park is named after its builder, E. N. Overbury, who served as a local judge at Thalassery in 1870’s and he wanted to construct a picnic spot at the cliff. A seaside open-air coffee shop has also been opened on the folly is situated about 22 km from Kannur Town
HISTORY
The name Overbury's Folly park comes from the name of the builder, E.N.Overbury, who served as a local judge at Thalasseri in the 1870.Overbury wanted to construct a picnic spot at the cliff in 1879 but he couldn't complete the construction so later the place earned the name Overbury's Folly.The unfinished construction now serves as a recreational park.
