In Kerala, One of the Amma’s worldwide mission is Amritapuri in Kollam. There came hundreds of believers. All the residents have dedicated their lives for realizing God and serving the world. She sees each and every one, listens to their worries, consoles, encourages, provides new direction to their lives. Travellers can book the Amritapuri visit through Tourkicks custom plan.
SPECIALITIES
The house she was born developed into the ashram. It is today the headquarters of Mata Amritananda Mayi Trust. Huge buildings have come up to accommodate thronging Indian and foreign devotees. The place has been renamed Amritapuri. Accommodation and food are available for those coming from distant places. Free vegetarian meals are served three times a day. There is a cloak room, library, charitable dispensary, phone booth, post office etc. No drugs, alcohol, smoking, non-vegetarian food etc are allowed in the premises. Residing as well as visiting devotees do all the work in the ashram.
CLIMATE
The city's climatic condition makes Kollam a best city in India to live. The maximum average temperature of the city in the summer season is 31 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature recorded is 23 degrees Celsius. Under the Köppen climate classification, the city features a Tropical monsoon climate.
