The Indian School of Martial Arts is located in Vazhuthacaud, in Thiruvananthapuram. Thiruvananthapuram often known as Trivandrum is the capital city of Kerala. Thiruvananthapuram is the largest City in Kerala and in fact the political nerve centre of Kerala. The Indian School of Martial Arts (ISMA) was established in 1983 on a 10 acre land to impart training on Kerala’s very own martial art known as Kalarippayattu. The institution has official recognition as an approved training centre for the 5000-year-old martial art, Kalarippayattu by the Government of India and Sports Council. The man behind this institution is its founder by name Balachandran Nair who hails from a family of Kalari warriors..
