The Nishagandhi Dance Festival in Kerala gives one the splendid opportunity to watch dance performances by renowned artistes from different corners of the country. This festival gives a fascinating glimpse of India’s rich cultural heritage. It is indeed very pleasantly surprising to know that there is no entry fee to this dance festival. There is no better platform for the talented artistes to reveal their talent and there is no better place for viewers to witness such magnetic performances. Classical dances such as Kathak, Odissi, Mohiniyattam and Bharatanatyam are performed along with the more modern dance forms such as ballet. Folk dances are not left out from the programme. The Festival also showcases the traditional handicrafts of Kerala and the cuisines of India in the adjacent Sooryakanthi Fair Ground, also within the palace grounds.
