ABOUT
Veli is a picturesque village, with a delightful waterfront park and a tourist village. Veli village is sandwiched between the Veli lagoon and the Arabian Sea. Veli beach, adorned with its natural beauty, is an added attraction. It lies on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram (8 km) in Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala. The nearest airport, Trivandrum International Airport, is just about 3 km away. The nearest railway station is Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station (8 km). Nearby attractions are Shanghumughom Beach, 150925Akkulam Tourist Village and Akkulam Lake. Veli Lake is a unique inland lake, separated by a narrow sand bar from the Arabian Sea. It is located in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram in Thiruvananthapuram District. The confluence of the lake with the sea is a picturesque picnic spot, named Veli Tourist Village. The charms of the lake can be explored by boat rides. Motor-driven safari launches, powerboats and pedal boats or rowboats can be hired from the Tourist Village. The eastern flank of the lake harbours two beautiful hillocks, good for hiking. Kayaking and hovercraft ride are also possible. The lake features a floating restaurant and a floating bridge that connects the tourist village with the beach.
